Advantages of supercritical CO2 extraction

Supercritical CO2 fluid extraction technology is a new beneficial technology, which is applied to the production of rose essential oil.

The technology utilizes the unique properties of supercritical CO2 to efficiently and safely extract rose essential oil, maintaining its natural fragrance and active ingredients.

Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) is an efficient and environmentally friendly extraction method, which is especially suitable for extracting natural flavors from plants. Here are the steps to extract natural fragrances from plants such as osmanthus, jasmine, rose, pepper, cinnamon, mint, etc., using a supercritical fluid (usually carbon dioxide) :

1. Raw material selection and pretreatment
Choose high-quality raw materials: Choose fresh, non-impurity plant raw materials, such as osmanthus, jasmine, rose, etc.
Pretreatment: The raw materials are cleaned, dried, and crushed to increase the surface area and facilitate the penetration of supercritical fluids.
2. Prepare the extraction device
Equipment inspection: Ensure that all components of the extraction unit (such as high pressure pump, extraction kettle, separator, etc.) are working properly.
Loading raw materials: Load the pre-treated plant raw materials into the extraction kettle, and add an appropriate amount of entrainment agent (such as ethanol) if necessary to improve extraction efficiency.
3. Supercritical extraction operation
Temperature: Set the appropriate extraction temperature according to the characteristics of the plant. For example, the extraction temperature of rose essential oil is usually 31 ° C ~35 ° C, and cinnamon essential oil is 40 ° C.
Pressure: The extraction pressure is generally between 25MPa and 50MPa.
Time: Extraction time is usually 2 to 4 hours.
Through the supercritical fluid: the liquid carbon dioxide is pressurized to the supercritical state through the high pressure pump, through the extraction kettle, and contact with the plant raw materials.
Extraction is collected: After extraction is completed, the carbon dioxide is vaporized by reducing pressure or heating up to separate the extract
