The Vacuum harrow dryer is a horizontal, jacketed heating, and internally equipped with low-speed rotating rake teeth for stirring, intermittent vacuum drying equipment specifically designed for heat-sensitive, easily oxidizable, high moisture content, or solvent-requiring recovery materials.

The main body of the equipment is a horizontal cylindrical tank, with a semi-tube jacket or an integral jacket on the outside for introducing heating media; the upper part of the tank is equipped with an inlet port, a vacuum suction port, a sight glass lamp, a cleaning port, and a rupture disc interface; the lower part is equipped with an outlet valve (bottom ball valve/damper valve or side outlet). The stirring shaft passing through the end cover adopts a double-end face mechanical seal + vacuum sealing system to ensure cleanliness and no leakage under long-term high vacuum conditions. The entire equipment can complete various processes such as drying, mixing, reaction, crystallization, and sterilization under negative pressure and sealed conditions. 

How the Vacuum harrow dryer Works?

The wet materials (filter cake, paste, slurry or powder) are fed into the cylinder through the inlet and sealed. Then, the system starts the jacket heating and vacuum pumping:
1.Heating: The heat medium (steam/hot water/thermal oil) circulates in the jacket, and the heat is conducted to the materials through the cylinder wall.
2.Vacuum desorption: The cylinder is evacuated to a high vacuum (the absolute pressure can be as low as 2 - 15 kPa), and the boiling point of moisture significantly decreases. The materials can vaporize at a low temperature of 40 - 90°C, avoiding decomposition, color change or inactivation of heat-sensitive components.
3.Scrapers stir: The low-speed rotating scrapers constantly stir, break and update the surface of the materials, ensuring that the materials continuously and uniformly come into contact with the heated cylinder wall, preventing local overheating, caking or "dead zones".

 

4.Extraction and recovery of moisture: The vaporized water vapor or organic solvent vapor is extracted by the vacuum system and enters the condenser to condense into liquid and is recovered to the receiving tank; the non-condensable gas is discharged by the vacuum pump.
5.End point determination: The drying end point is determined through online temperature, vacuum degree, stirring torque, sampling detection or online moisture meter. Then, the vacuum is released and the materials are discharged.
The entire process is completed under a sealed negative pressure, without dust leakage or solvent loss.
