Types of Mini Rotary Evaporator
Spherical Flask
Typically made from glass, these flasks have a spherical design, hence the name. They have a round bottom that is even an area for heating. This applies the heat uniformly over the solvents in the flask.
Spherical Flask
This flask is typically made of borosilicate glass. However, it can also come in other options like PTFE or coating options like cocoa butter. The exit port on this flask is usually a rubber grommet.
1 to 5L rotary evaporator
These types of evaporators are on a larger scale. It can be classified as up to five liters in capacity. Although many might have a capacity of 2-3 liters but still very much fall under the laboratory category.
Types of Triple Effect Evaporator
Falling Film Evaporators
We use falling film evaporators in industries where gentle heat treatment and short residence time are crucial. These evaporators distribute the liquid evenly over the inner surface of vertical tubes. The liquid forms a thin film, which flows downward under the influence of gravity.
Thin Film Evaporators
We design thin film evaporators, also known as wiped film evaporators, for the efficient evaporation of highly viscous and heat-sensitive products.
Forced Circulation Evaporators
We recommend forced circulation evaporators for handling solutions with a high tendency to scale or crystallize. These evaporators use a pump to circulate the liquid through a heat exchanger, where it heats up before entering the evaporator body.
Wiped Film Evaporators
We specialize in wiped film evaporators for processing high-viscosity and heat-sensitive materials. These evaporators use a rotating wiper to spread the liquid into a thin film on the heated surface. The thin film allows for rapid evaporation and minimizes thermal degradation.
Agitated Thin Film Evaporators

Multi-Effect Evaporators

Rising Film Systems
Rising film systems are ideal for liquids that tend to foam. In these devices, the liquid is introduced at the bottom of the vertical tubes and heated. As it heats up, vapor forms and pushes the liquid upward, creating a thin film that evaporates quickly.

Specifications Of Mini Rotary Evaporator
Capacity
Mini rotary evaporators have an average capacity of 0.5 to 1 liters per flask. This capacity is well suited for concentrating small sample volumes typical in academic or small-scale industrial labs.
Rotational Speed
The speed at which the flask rotates is a crucial specification. Mini evaporators generally have rotational speed adjustments. The speeds can vary between 60-180 rpm.
Temperature Range
The temperature to perform the evaporation process is a critical parameter. Mini rotary evaporators have temperature control units. The temperature may range from room temperature up to 99 degrees Celsius or higher.

Rotating evaporation flask: Usually, a round-bottomed flask is made of glass to hold the concentrated sample; flask is available in various sizes. It is usually placed in an oil or water bath for heating (heating is faster using an oil bath and there is less splashing when boiling and rotating).
Heating bath: Heating bath is used to heat the liquid inside the flask to ensure a consistent and accurate temperature during evaporation.
Drive motor: Provides power to the rotary evaporation flask so that the liquid inside can be heated more evenly to facilitate evaporation.
Condenser: The condenser is the key component of rotary evaporation and is made of a spiral glass tube. The vapor is condensed back to liquid form in the condenser.
Vacuum pump inlet: The vapor is reported faster by increasing the pressure and decreasing the temperature.
Receiving flask: The condensed solvent is collected in a receiving flask located below the condenser. This flask can be heated if required to promote further evaporation of the collected solvent.
