Raw milk receiving and storage equipment

Raw milk receiving tank

  • Function: Receive raw milk from transport tanker.
  • Features: Equipped with strainer (100-200 mesh) to remove impurities, built-in agitator to prevent fat stratification.

Milk storage tank

  • Function: Temporary storage of raw milk, keeping the temperature at 2-4°C.
  • Characteristics: double-layer stainless steel structure, sandwich through the cold water insulation, capacity from tens of kilograms to tens of tonnes.

Pre-treatment equipment

Filter

  • Function: remove solid impurities (such as grass clippings, hair) in milk.
  • Type: multi-stage filtration (coarse + fine filtration), commonly used stainless steel screen or bag filter.

Cooler

  • Function: Rapid cooling down to 2-4°C, inhibit bacterial reproduction.
  • Type: plate heat exchanger, using cold water or ice water as cooling medium.

Standardisation and homogenising equipment

Milk fat separator

  • Function: Separate the fat in milk and adjust the fat content.
  • Features: high speed centrifugation (6000-10000 rpm), can separate skimmed milk and cream.

Homogeniser

  • Function: Breaks fat globules to a diameter of <2μm and prevents fat from floating up and stratifying.
  • Features: high pressure homogenisation (15-25 MPa), commonly used double-stage homogenising head.

Sterilisation equipment

Pasteurisation equipment

  • Function: low temperature sterilisation (72-85°C, 15-30 seconds), retaining some of the active ingredients.
  • Features: plate heat exchanger to achieve rapid warming and cooling, energy efficient.

Ultra-high temperature sterilisation (UHT) equipment

  • Function: high temperature instantaneous sterilisation (135-150°C, 2-5 seconds), producing room temperature milk.
  • Features: tube or plate heating system, equipped with aseptic cooling section.

Filling and packaging equipment

Aseptic filling machine

  • Function: Filling UHT milk in aseptic environment.
  • Features: 100-level clean environment, filling speed up to 6000-24000 packages/hour.

Hot filling machine

  • Function: Filling pasteurised milk, secondary sterilisation after filling.
  • Characteristics: Suitable for PET bottles, glass bottles or roof boxes, filling temperature about 85°C.

Packing machine

  • Function: Finish milk packaging (e.g. Tetra Pillow, plastic bag).
  • Characteristics: high degree of automation, support a variety of packaging forms.

Cleaning equipment

CIP cleaning system

  • Function: Fully automatic cleaning of pipelines, tanks and equipment.
  • Features: acid and alkali cycle cleaning, cleaning liquid can be recycled to reduce water consumption.

Testing and monitoring equipment

Ingredient analyser

  • Function: Rapid detection of fat, protein, lactose and other ingredients.
  • Type: Near infrared analyser (NIR) with high precision (±0.1%).

Microbiological detector

  • Function: Detect microbiological indicators such as total colony count, coliforms, etc.
  • Type: PCR detector, ATP fluorescence detector.

Online monitoring system

  • Function: real-time monitoring of temperature, pressure, flow and other parameters.
  • Features: integrated PLC control system, support remote operation and data recording.

Auxiliary equipment

Refrigeration unit

  • Function: provide cooling water or ice water for cooling raw milk and cooling after sterilisation.
  • Features: screw or centrifugal compressor, refrigeration capacity according to demand.

Steam boiler

  • Function: Provide steam for sterilisation and cleaning.
  • Features: gas or electric heating, pressure 0.8-1.2 MPa.

Air compressor

  • Function: Provide aseptic air (for aseptic filling) and equipment power.
  • Characteristics: oil-free air compressor, equipped with high efficiency filter.

equipment selection recommendations

  • Capacity matching: according to the daily processing capacity to choose equipment specifications (such as 5000L / h or 20000L / h).
  • Degree of automation: high automation equipment (such as aseptic filling machine) can reduce labour costs, but the initial investment is higher.

Equipment layout and installation

  • Process layout: according to the 'U-shaped' or 'linear' layout, reduce the material transport distance.
  • Hygienic design: equipment and pipelines are made of 304/316L stainless steel to avoid hygienic dead space.
  • Space reservation: leave enough space for equipment maintenance and cleaning.
