Advantages of Molecular Distillation Technology

  • Low-temperature operation: Molecular distillation is carried out in a high vacuum environment, with the operating temperature typically 50-100°C lower than that of conventional distillation, which can prevent the decomposition of nicotine due to high temperatures.
  • High vacuum environment: Operating under extremely low vacuum conditions reduces oxidation and contamination, improving the purity of nicotine.
  • Efficient separation: Molecular distillation has high separation efficiency, allowing for a single-step high-purity separation, with processing time shortened by more than 50%.

The principle of purifying essential oils mainly relies on the difference in molecular free paths

Heating evaporation

The essential oil is heated to its evaporation temperature, forming a very thin liquid film. The light molecules evaporate from the surface of the liquid film and enter the gaseous space.

Molecular separation

Due to the extremely short distance between the evaporation surface and the condensation surface, light molecules can directly reach the condensation surface and be condensed into liquid, while heavy molecules, due to their shorter free path, cannot reach the condensation surface and eventually return to the evaporation surface.

Condensation collection

Lighter molecules condense on the condensation surface and are collected, while heavier molecules remain near the evaporation surface,

thereby achieving the separation of different components in the essential oil.
