Technical Principles and Process Advantages
Molecular distillation equipment separates substances by exploiting the differences in the free paths of molecular motion within a high vacuum environment of 0.01-1.0 Pa. Compared to traditional distillation technology, its unique advantages include:
- Low-temperature operation (100-200°C) effectively protects the activity of heat-sensitive ingredients like CBD
- Short heating time (in seconds) minimizes the risk of thermal degradation
- Effectively removes impurities such as pesticide residues and heavy metals
- Efficiently separates THC from CBD, easily obtaining compliant products with THC content below 0.3%.
By optimizing process parameters, molecular distillation can increase the purity of the raw material from 40-60% to more than 90%, while effectively retaining active ingredients such as terpenes. In actual production, the use of multi-stage molecular distillation technology can even produce CBD crystal products with a purity of more than 99%.
