Disc centrifuge achieves solid-liquid separation or liquid-liquid separation by centrifugal force generated by high-speed rotation. The drum is equipped with a set of mutually overlapping disc-shaped parts, i.e. discs. When the suspension or emulsion containing solid particles flows into the drum, the solid particles sink to the discs under the effect of centrifugal force to form slag, while the liquid is discharged from the outlet out of the drum. The role of the disc is to shorten the settlement distance of solid particles, expand the settlement area of the drum, thereby increasing the capacity of the separator.

• Disc centrifuge:

  Rotating Discs: The key component is a machine with one or more rotating discs or plates.

  Workpieces and Media: Parts to be finished and abrasive or polishing media are placed in the machine.

  Process:

  Centrifugal Force: The discs spin at high speeds, creating strong centrifugal forces. This force pushes the media and workpieces against the wall of a processing chamber.

  Abrasive Action: The abrasive media (which can be abrasive grains, polishing compounds, or ceramic pellets) rubs against the surface of the workpieces as the discs spin.

  Uniform Finishing: The high speed and the rotational movement ensure that the abrasive action is uniform, providing consistent surface finishing across all parts.

  Parameters:

  Speed and Time: The speed of the discs and the duration of the process can be adjusted to achieve the desired level of surface finish.

  Media Type: Different types of media and abrasives can be used depending on the material and the finish required.

• Deburring: Removes sharp edges and burrs from machined or cast parts.

  Polishing: Provides a smooth, shiny finish to surfaces, often used in jewelry, automotive parts, and other precision components.

  Cleaning: Cleans parts by removing contaminants or residues, commonly used in manufacturing and assembly processes.

  Surface Preparation: Prepares surfaces for coating or painting by creating a uniform texture.
