Horizontal head centrifuge is a machine that uses a high-speed rotating drum to generate centrifugal force to achieve the separation of solid particles from liquid in suspension.
When the suspension enters the drum of the horizontal head centrifuge, the drum generates a strong centrifugal force under high speed rotation. This centrifugal force will be greater than the density of the liquid phase of the solid particles thrown on the inner wall of the drum, forming a solid layer (solid ring layer). Moisture, on the other hand, has a lower density and a smaller centrifugal force, so it can only form a liquid layer on the inside of the solid layer (liquid ring layer). After that, the solid particles are retained in the drum under the action of centrifugal force, and automatically discharged out of the machine under the action of force; at the same time, the liquid in the suspension is thrown out through the filtration medium and the small holes of the drum, so as to achieve the purpose of liquid-solid separation.
