Homogenizer is a kind of equipment widely used in food processing, chemical industry, biomedicine and other fields, and its types are various, which can be divided according to different classifications. The following is a detailed introduction to the different types of homogenizer:
Classified according to the way of construction
Vertical Integral Homogenizer
- Applicable to small and medium-sized equipment, the power is usually below 45kw.
- Compact structure, beautiful appearance, small footprint.
- But for large equipment, stability may become the main problem.
Horizontal Combined Homogenizer
- Applicable to large equipment, power above 45kw.
- The motor, gearbox, crankcase, smooth station, etc. are relatively independent into blocks and scattered on the same horizontal plane, which are connected into a whole through belt (wheel), coupling, oil pipe, etc. The whole machine has a low center of gravity and runs smoothly.
- The whole machine has low center of gravity, smooth operation and easy maintenance.
Classification according to working principle
High pressure homogenizer
- It is composed of high pressure piston pump and special structure homogenizing valve.
- Under the reciprocating motion of the plunger pump, the material is compressed by strong compression, and a strong shearing force is generated when passing through the restriction slit, so that the dispersed particles and liquid droplets are sheared and stretched to be crushed.
- It is suitable for handling soft and semi-soft granular materials.
Micro-jet Homogenizer
- It is mainly composed of homogenizing cavity and pressurizing mechanism, and the inside of homogenizing cavity is usually a "Z" or "Y" type micro-channel.
- Under the action of the pressurizing mechanism, the fluid passes through the valve core with tiny aperture, generating a fluid with several times the speed of sound, which passes through the micro-channel of the homogenizing cavity rapidly and makes a strong high-speed impact with another jet in the opposite direction, generating a shearing force on the nano-sized micro-molecules.
- It has developed rapidly in recent years and is suitable for fluids that require a high degree of homogenization.
Centrifugal Homogenizer
- A centrifugal separator that combines a purifier with a centrifuge.
- The fluid is passed through a high-speed centrifuge to separate impurities and achieve homogenization at the same time.
- It is suitable for liquids with low fat content and low viscosity.
Ultrasonic Homogenizer
- This machine utilizes ultrasonic waves to homogenize liquids by complex and intense stirring of the material.
- When the ultrasonic frequency is increased to 20~25 kHz/sec, it rapidly and alternately compresses and expands when it encounters an object, generating a cavity phenomenon, thus realizing homogenization.
- Suitable for a variety of liquid homogenization needs.
Classification according to application areas
Laboratory homogenizer
- Such as ultrasonic crushing homogenizer, probe rotary blade homogenizer, tapping type homogenizer, etc..
- Suitable for tissue mashing, cell lysis, nucleic acid protein extraction and other laboratory operations.
Industrial Homogenizer
- Such as high-pressure homogenizer, micro-jet homogenizer and so on.
- Applicable to food processing, chemical industry, biomedicine and other fields of industrial production.
Classified according to the control mode
Manual control homogenizer
- Relying on manual operation for homogenization.
- It is suitable for small-scale or manually operated production lines.
Automatic hydraulic control homogenizer
- Homogenization is realized through automatic control system.
- It is suitable for production lines with higher degree of automation.
Classification according to the number of homogenizing valves
Single-stage homogenizer
- Only one set of homogenizing valve is used.
- It is mostly used for low viscosity or low fat content food such as milk.
Two-stage homogenizer
- Two sets of homogenizing valves are used.
- The homogenization effect is better than the single-stage type, and it is suitable for fruit juice, ice cream and other high-fat products.
In summary, there are various types of homogenizers, and the selection needs to be based on specific application scenarios, material characteristics, production efficiency and other factors for comprehensive consideration.
