Tunnel pasteurisation equipment is a type of equipment used for the pasteurisation process of food and beverage containers. Such equipment typically comprises at least two cover layers which overlap each other and contain, respectively, a conveyor belt for the beverage containers and a number of spray pipes extending transversely in the direction of the conveyor belt with nozzles for spraying the beverage containers. This design permits the pasteurisation of the beverage containers by driving a liquid spray through a series of pipes from one cover layer to the other.
A key advantage of tunnel pasteurisation equipment is its ability to efficiently utilise hot and cold energy, saving the space occupied by the equipment while ensuring consistent temperatures inside and outside the food, using circulating air for heating and dehydration, controlling the moisture content of the food and using constant temperature drying to significantly improve the shelf-life of thicker foods with high moisture content. This shows that the tunnel type pasteurisation equipment is not only technically advanced, but also has a significant effect in improving food safety and extending the shelf life of products.
