Disc Separator

The centrifugal force that drives the separation process in a disc separator is generated when the suspension (or emulsion) flows into the space between the high-speed rotating discs through the central tube. This is achieved by applying dynamic pressure to the system. The centrifugal force causes the solid particles (or heavy liquid) to move from the lower surface of the upper disc to the rotor along the lower surface of the disc. This results in the accumulation of the liquid (or light liquid) in the largest diameter parts of the drum. The liquid (or light liquid) rises along the centre of the rotor and is discharged from the casing, thus achieving the purpose of separation.

The disc separator is composed of the following parts:
1. Inlet and outlet device: used for material inlet and outlet.
2. drum: one of the core components, with a stack of conical discs inside, leaving a small gap between the discs and the disc.
3. Cover: used to close the drum and prevent the material from splashing out.
4. Vertical shaft: supports the drum and enables it to rotate at high speeds.
5. Cross shaft: cooperates with the vertical shaft to support the drum.
6. Base: provides support for the foundation of the machine.
7.Motor:provides power to drive the drum at high speed.
8.PLC control box:It is for equipment control and monitoring.

-The chemical industry also uses centrifuges, for example to separate chemical reaction products.
-Wastewater treatment: removal of suspended solids from wastewater.
