milk thistle oil
The active ingredient of milk thistle

Milk thistle oil content of 25% to 30%, of which unsaturated fatty acid content of more than 80% .Milk thistle is extracted from the defatted meal of yellow powder or crystalline powder.

At present, milk thistle is extracted from oil by pressing, the cake contains high oil, which will affect the yield and quality of milk thistle production.

The use of butane subcritical low temperature extraction technology to extract milk thistle oil can make up for the shortcomings of the current production process and extract oil more thoroughly.

The production process is as follows:

Milk thistle → decontamination softening → Rolling blank → low temperature extraction of butane → crude oil → refining → finished oil

Process description:

The raw material is removed by the vibrating screen, and then put into the softening pot by the conveyor. Then adding a certain amount of water, heating to 45~55℃ and holding for a certain time (about 15min) to soften. And then rolling by the billet rolling machine, billet thickness of 0.3m, moisture maintained at about 8%, billet sent to the subcritical extraction workshop.

The subcritical solvent is butane, and the blank is extracted at room temperature, the extraction pressure is 0.4~ 0.6MPa, the countercurrent extraction is 4 times, and the residual oil reaches 1.2%. The crude oil is filtered, hydrated, deacidified, decolorized, deodorized and dewaxed to obtain refined edible oil. The defatted milk thistle meal is also the main product, which is extracted and purified by acetone and other solvents to obtain silymarin products.

Equipment Features:

1. Efficient extraction
High extraction rate: subcritical extraction technology can efficiently extract the active components of milk thistle oil, such as unsaturated fatty acids and milk thistle. Compared with the traditional pressing method, the extraction rate of subcritical extraction is higher, and the oil components can be extracted more fully.
Good selectivity: Subcritical fluid has good selectivity, can be targeted to extract the target ingredients, reduce the mixture of impurities, thereby improving the purity of the extract.

2. Protect active ingredients
Low temperature extraction: The sub-critical extraction process is carried out at a lower temperature, usually between 30-50 ° C, which avoids the destruction of the active ingredients by high temperature and is able to better retain nutrients such as unsaturated fatty acids and vitamins in milk thistle oil.
No chemical solvent residue: the solvent used for sub-critical extraction (such as butane, propane, etc.) is gaseous at room temperature and pressure, easily volatile, and will not remain in the extract, ensuring the purity and safety of the extract.
