Spray dryers are highly efficient drying equipment widely used in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical and other industries, capable of rapidly converting liquid or slurry materials into dry powder. The following are the main components and functions of the spray dryer:
1. Feeding system
Responsible for transporting the liquid to be dried to the atomizer, including storage tanks, transfer pumps (peristaltic pumps or high-pressure pumps), pipelines and filters. The pump provides a stable pressure to ensure the atomization effect, while the filter effectively intercepts impurities and prevents nozzle clogging.
2. Atomization system
As the core of the equipment, it converts liquid materials into uniform micron-sized droplets. The mainstream atomization solutions include centrifugal, pressure and air flow atomizers, which are precisely selected based on the material characteristics (viscosity, solid content).
3. Drying tower
The main reaction zone where heat exchange occurs between the material and hot air. It is necessary to avoid wall sticking or degradation of heat-sensitive substances.
4. Hot air system
It is composed of a fan, air ducts and filters, providing a stable heat source for the drying process. The evaporation rate is precisely controlled by adjusting the air temperature and air volume to ensure the consistency of the moisture content of the product. High-temperature systems need to be equipped with heat energy recovery devices to reduce energy consumption.
5. Collection system
Efficient gas-solid separation is achieved by using cyclone separators, bag filters or vibrating screens.
6. Control system
As the intelligent hub of the entire set of equipment, it realizes full-process automated operation by real-time monitoring of parameters such as temperature, pressure and liquid level.
